Tennis Racket Guide - Length

You should have read the Racket Features Page, and would now like some further details about the length of a racket.

A longer racket gives you an extended reach. This can help on serves and volleys. The disadvantage is that there is less control because you are further away from the ball. You have to experiment to find the best length for your own requirements. Many players will probably find the ideal length to be 70 cms or 27.5 inches.

The main lengths are shown below. You can easily measure the length of your current racket.

Useful Hint

A longer racket can seem difficult to use at first. Most players adapt to them after a few weeks use.
