String Price Ranges Guide

Players have very different requirements for the price of strings. Some players think the strings make very little difference and use those that are fairly low cost. Other players prefer strings with better performance and are willing to pay the extra cost.

Each group of string types is described with their normal price range.

Actual Prices

On this page the prices of strings are shown as low, medium or high. You probably would like to know how much they will cost you.

String Price Guide 2003

Original / Club

Players in this group are satisfied with an all-round string. They do not break strings frequently and prefer both average performance and durability. They normally select a low to medium price string.

Spin / Durable

If you use top-spin your strings will break more frequently. This obviously means you will have an above average number of restrings. Players in this group normally want low to medium priced strings that have extra durability.

Specialist

Players in this group want better performance from their strings. This is found mainly in more expensive strings. Their target prices will usually be in the medium to high prices.

Competition

You want the best performance if these strings are your choice. Strings in this group are often thinner; use advanced materials and types of construction. These strings are almost always in the higher price range.
