Gauge

Thinner strings usually have better control and response. Larger gauges are used for better durability. See String Gauge explanation

Tension Loss

All strings lose tension after stringing and in use. Strings are rated compared to average tension loss.

String Length

Most tennis rackets require between 11 and 12 metres for a restring.

Price

Strings are rated as Low, medium or High. Actual prices will usually vary between shops and mail order suppliers.
